Dear MOPS Leader,

Kindergarten is an exciting milestone for you and your child.  It is also a very anxious time. Transition to Kindergarten is a journey, but how do you prepare them for this trip?  What steps can you take to teach them the skills necessary to be successful during this new and exhilarating time? I want to help you with my free workshop A Recipe for Success in Kindergarten.  This workshop was presented in 2007 for 23 MOPS groups throughout Colorado.  Now we are thrilled to announce that it will now be available in your area.

The workshop I created is designed especially for you, a parent of young children, who is looking for activities, both fun and educational to share with your children.  You will learn the ingredients needed to ensure success in Kindergarten.  Following the workshop, you will have exciting new ideas using the “toolbox” that already exists in your home.

I have a passion for working with children and their parents and I am excited about sharing these great ideas with you.  In addition to working as a preschool and kindergarten teacher for 15 years, I am the author of 22 early childhood teacher resource books and have presented workshops at many local education conferences as well as national conferences.  In 2006, I started Little Hands Learning Company to provide education and resources to parents of young children and to Make Learning a Joyful Journey for young children.  One resource we provide is creating and presenting workshops to help moms start this journey with their children. 

I am pleased to introduce our new speaker in the Columbus area.  Maureen McCourt Boylan is a former kindergarten teacher and reading specialist. An author of several teacher resource books, she has been a speaker at National Association for the Education of Young Children state conferences. As the Director of Parent Education at Little Hands Learning Company, Maureen presents workshops to parents of preschool children and is responsible for training other Little Hands speakers.
